The Western Railway is one of the 17 zones of Indian Railways and the busiest railway networks. The railway system is divided into six operating divisions: Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Bhavnagar, Ratlam, and Mumbai. The Western Railway was created on 5 November 1951 by the merger of several state-owned railways. The narrow gauge lines of Cutch State Railway was also merged in 1951. Western Railway headquarters is at Mumbai's Churchgate station and serves the entire state of Gujarat, some portions of Western Madhya Pradesh and coastal Maharashtra.

Note: Engineering Graduates and Diploma holders are not eligible to apply or apprenticeship in response to this notification as they are governed by a Separate scheme apprenticeship.
Training will be arranged in accordance with the standards and syllabus prescribed by the Central Apprenticeship Council., The selected candidates will be paid stipend during Apprenticeship at the prescribed rates as per extent instructions. Training Period is 1 year.
